At Threadline Software, we've created a better way to manage email.
Before developing Threadline, we spent ten years perfecting ways to help teams and groups work more effectively via the Internet. Yet despite our efforts, users continued to live in email. Then it hit us: Maybe our customers were telling us something by their actions. Maybe email wasn't as bad as we thought.
We started by talking to users about what they liked and disliked about email. We discovered that users liked that email was a simple, quick, reliable form of communication that kept a personal record of every correspondence they sent and received. If a message was intended for their attention, it arrived in a single Inbox, and if they sent something out, a copy of it could be found in their own Sent Items folder.
The relationship between users and email only got rocky when it came time to file, manage, retrieve and share email, especially around teamwork and projects. Email was working just fine for personal communication, but for information management and collaboration it left much to be desired.
Armed with this insight, we set about finding a way to build upon email's strengths while also addressing its weaknesses. By embracing and leveraging email's ability to provide simple yet reliable communications, and then building behind it the collaboration and information management capabilities that it lacked, we sought to develop a solution that let email users continue working the way they're used to working, while also offering them collaboration benefits on demand whenever the need arises.
The result was Threadline software.
